Day 50 – Time For Change

4 weeks/28 days/672 hours to go. I need to seriously accelerate things.

Day: 50 of 77
Date: 30/06/2013
Workout Day: 33
Weight (lb): 160.2 (11.6 lb loss)
Body Fat %: 13.6 (3.0% loss)
Health: Fine 10/10

With the scary thought of the finish line being only 4 weeks away, I started the day with an extra level of determination to do everything I could to achieve that elusive body beautiful. After my weekly self-photo session, I made myself an absolutely gorgeous shake of crushed ice, 10g vanilla isolate, strong coffee and 30ml coconut milk. After some aggressive shaking, it cooled down to a smooth foamy shake and was simply amazing. Like a Starbucks Frapuccino without all the sugary crap they add. That fired me up for 20 minutes on the cross-trainer, some gardening and then a tough back+shoulders session in the gym. I’ve been watching a lot of Ben Pakulski’s videos recently on intensity, and so I switched to much lighter weights and really focused on range of motion and getting an intense muscle contraction throughout the movement. It felt a bit weird going light but it all came together in the end.

This morning I decided that to accelerate the fat loss I’ll need to make another change, and with a fairly static microcycle ahead of me I chose the keep the calories static at 1900 but introduce 50g of carbs PWO. I feel I’m lean enough to be able to handle this relatively small amount and it should give me a little hormonal boost. In turn my PWO shake was 50g whey, 50g dextrose and 5g creatine. I blended it with ice into a creamy milkshake consistency and it was SUPER SWEET but SUPER TASTY! Seven weeks without any sugar certainly makes you appreciate a sugary drink. It was heaven! I’m hopeful that in the morning I won’t see any negative effects.

Tomorrow is leg day, but at least I can look forward to my new staple bulletproof coffee latte in the morning and sugary shake PWO.
