With another day on the road, and no access to a gym, the most exercise I managed was walking between buildings around London via UP’s City gym to pick up some more clothes. I love their training top vests. They fit perfectly and look great. I was grateful for the walk to loosen up the DOMS that has appeared (as expected) in my glutes. Damn those lunges! The friction burn on my rear end is still there which is only serving to make sitting an awkward activity.

So with exercise put to one side I embraced the opportunity for some more good food, which started with smoked salmon and scrambled egg for breakfast, and then for lunch I went to the London restaurant Tramshed. Despite its famous chef owner (Mark Hix) it’s actually a very simple restaurant, as summarised beautifully by the URL of its website: chickenandsteak.co.uk . It pretty much does nothing else. This was ideal for me, and so that is exactly what I had. The 1kg Porterhouse (T-bone for UK people) and a whole chicken. Despite the mountain of fries that arrived I just had some salad and mushrooms to complement the meat. The chicken is great, probably the best roast chicken you’ll find at a restaurant. But I found the steak a little over-blackened on the outside and not the best quality of meat. The steak was not as good as Gaucho’s, Goodman or Hawksmoor. If I go again then I’ll just have a whole large chicken (usually for 2-3 people) and avoid the steak. Below are a few photos of the meal, along with the menu.
