Day 42 – More And More

It’s time to get back into the groove, and with my back feeling great, my phase of being tentative is behind me.

Day: 42 of 77
Date: 22/06/2013
Workout Day: Active Rest
Weight (lb): 159.8 (12.0 lb loss)
Body Fat %: 13.5 (3.1% loss)
Health: Fine 10/10

So the plan from here forward is to use my rest days for both cardio/HIIT and abdominal exercises. Anything involving weights will be left to the scheduled training days. I’ve no excuse not to absolutely smash every session now, so if I can do more then that’s what I shall do.

Despite having a full day of work to do, I took a few chunks of time out of my day to go back in the gym. First was the ab work which involved four trisets of 25 leg raises, 12 weighted ab board crunches and 25 pairs of weighted ab board twists. This was pretty damn tough but I knew the pain wouldn’t hit me for a few days so I felt fine afterwards. Later I performed some HIIT on the cross-trainer which centred around 10 x 20 seconds flat out/40 seconds comfortable (as per the first half of the routine described in the book). This was damn hard too but psychologically I felt great afterwards.

I’ve decided to up the calories a little bit, so I’m now aiming for around 1900 per day. This should allow for the extra effort in the gym to pay dividends and help with recovery. I’ve lost 12 pounds in 6 weeks now, and I expect the weight to start going back up now the training intensity and calories increase.
