I’m starting to wonder whether to drop the term “Rest day”. Since I’ve decided to do some cardio/HIIT whenever I’m not doing weight training, the notion of a complete rest day is gone, so maybe I’ll start calling it “Cardio Day”.
A particularly rare thing happened today. The sun came out. It seems that we never get sunny and warm days where I live in England, and when it does happen I feel an overwhelming urge to get outside and enjoy it while I can. As with most men, my primary focus is on putting meat to a flame, and so out came the barbeque. With my current diet requiring a significant volume of meat and leftovers for breakfast, this was an ideal opportunity. My second area of attention was some limited sun bathing to top up the vitamin D levels.
The thought of leaving the outdoors to head back into the gym did not appeal to me, so I took some dumbbells outside and performed some HIIT circuits in the sun. Whilst this was enjoyable for me, I did wonder what my neighbours must have thought. To be fair, most of the people I know do wonder what I’m up to with my diet and training, thinking I’m “messing with my body” and “taking too many pills”. My answer will be the results when I finish.
So I’ve now completed the first 2 weeks of my 11 week programme and am excited to see what progress I can accomplish in the coming days.
