Day 2 – Exhausted

Day 2 of the transformation plan, following Nick Mitchell’s 12 Week Body Plan and today was never going to be much fun, with it being the dreaded legs day…

Starting stats:

Day: 2
Date: 13/05/2013
Workout Day: 6
Weight (lb): 169.6
Body Fat %: 16.1
Health: Golfers elbow has gone, but feel completely drained and sore across all my upper body.

The day started with me feeling exhausted from yesterday’s training session. This didn’t deter me from giving it my all when it came to the training, but again I was amazed at how hard it was. Workout 6 starts with thighs, then back and calves / posterior chain), and then abs. On paper they all look easy but if you follow the programme strictly then it will destroy you. Again I was fuelled by BCAA tablets after each superset, and a PWO shake afterwards.

For me personally, workouts of this intensity (together with a PWO shake) kill my appetite, and so I need to do them early in the day or at lunch (else I won’t eat my dinner and associated vegetables). Evening isn’t really going to work for me.

Also, I should point out that I’m taking 3 x Thermogenic tablets pre workout as a stimulant and for extra fat loss assistance. I use these. I will do a dedicated post on which supplements I’ll be taking and why, so watch this space.

As a final note, I’m sleeping a lot better on this regimen, maybe because all of my muscles are sore and don’t want to move.

Rest day tomorrow!!!! Or is it? I still haven’t decided whether to throw in some HIIT on rest days, or reserve the first week’s rest days for purely that, so I don’t break my body before it has learned to cope with this new workload.
