Day 59 – Hunger Control

After a few days on the carbs my appetite has shot through the roof. I do NOT like this.

Eight weeks of meat and veg pretty much flatlines your insulin levels. This feels strange at first but soon becomes the norm and personally I enjoy the feeling of not being up and down. Hunger levels do reduce but mine never fully disappeared (which can happen with a downregulated thyroid) but now I’ve brought the carbs back I can’t stop thinking about food.

I’ve had loads to eat today (meat + veg + meat + veg) and I still want more. It doesn’t help that I’m in an office surrounded by cakes and biscuits but I could easily destroy multiple chickens if I’m let near a Nandos tonight (chicken restaurant). Tomorrow I plan to have another workout, the first of MicroCycle 6, and will be having some more carbs for sure. Hopefully the cycling of carbs will start to normalise my appetite, but then next week I’m into full carb cycling with even more carbs post workout. On the plus side my strength and endurance has massively improved. Also, I have a sneaking suspicion I’ve put on some fat but then I think that might be more just some water retention from the heat or lack of sleep. I’ll closely monitor this, and if it looks like I’m still carb intolerant then I’ll be back on the meat+veg for the final week or two.
